Ryan started riding dirt bikes with his family at age 8. He mostly rode enduro with his younger brother Karl before they moved to the NSW coastal town of Yamba where he sold his motorbike and took up surfing.
After a 4 year break from riding Ryan got the bug back and started racing motocross in the Northern Territory. He competed in club man his first year and was bumped up to B grade in his second year. It was in this year that Ryan meet the RFDmx crew and started dabbling in the new era of dirt bike riding that was freestyle. FMX quickly took off across Australia and the RFDmx boys where keen to have a slice.
Although Ryan had the B grade points lead at the NT championship, he moved to Sydney to try his skills at competitive FMX.
Ryan floated around in the Amateur ranks for 3 years due to injury before the new Pro-B class was raised. Ryan Competited in the first Pro-B comps and landed his first backflip to dirt in 2005, before Pro-B was shut down and he soon found himself mixing it with the top dogs in Pro A.
Ryan has since taken it apon himself to be his own boss in FMX and run his own shows on his own ramps. You can find out more about Ryan’s shows on the page ”Looking for a FMX Show” of this web site
